While a fan of many blogs since the early 2000s, I have never been motivated to post before.  I've developed numerous webpages and sites, but had no desire to add my personal thoughts.  Now I am volunteering with non-profits which could use more social media presence, and am excited to explore this area.  Stay tuned as this blog (and I) evolve!
    This blog is a component of a “Social Media Marketing” class I am taking through the University of California Extension program.   I was interested in it, as it is part of the Non-Profit Management certificate curriculum.   When I decided to join he class, it was with the intent of applying the knowledge I gained to the Young Women Leaders (YWL) program I co-chair.   YWL is a local organization here in the desert which empowers young women through a combination of mentoring, workshops and scholarships.         However, the focus of this blog is supposed to be on marketing myself and building my brand online.   And, to be frank, this is much more challenging for me.   I could blog about financial education for days (and enjoy doing it!), and with enough content and reach, could potentially establish myself as an expert in the field.   But marketing myself has always been something I knew I should put more value and effort into, but could never get p...
